The final round of the BikeTrial World Championship took place in Alpette, Turin, Italy, on August 7th, 8th, and 9th, 2026. Let’s see how it went.
Alpette was the perfect stage for the second and final round of the World BikeTrial Championship 2026, which kicked off in July in the Catalan town of Castellví de Rosanes, Spain. The Alpette event was organized by the Moto Club Valli del Canavese in collaboration with the Municipality of Alpette, with the support of the Regional Council of Piedmont and numerous local organizations that contributed in various ways to the success of the event. They provided excellent catering, services, free camping for everyone, and the wonderful opportunity for an immersive experience at the local planetarium and telescope, one of the most important in Italy.
At the helm of it all was the tireless Roberto Beroggio, the true powerhouse behind the event in every aspect—an outstanding team effort that will be remembered by all participants and families, who will spread the name of this small Piedmontese town around the world.
Friday, August 7th, 2026
As per tradition, Friday was dedicated to registration formalities, section inspection, and the opening ceremony featuring Mayor Pio Graziano Goglio, President of the Moto Club Valli del Canavese Vanni Crisapulli, Massimo Iacoponi representing UISP, and Giuliano Gualeni for the BIU. It was a beautiful and well-attended ceremony, with 100 competitors representing 10 nations. A special surprise was in store for a long-standing participant: in recognition of his established and uninterrupted career in BikeTrial competitions, Mr. Scott Wilson was named Lifetime BikeTrial Ambassador. Thank you to him for setting such a great example of sportsmanship. The evening continued with entertainment, catering services, and a visit to the Planetarium.
Saturday, August 8th, 2026 — Groups B, F, H
The race course consisted of 8 sections to be repeated twice, starting from the Sports Center, with a transit section of about half a kilometer leading to completely natural sections set on large rocks in the forest among chestnut and beech trees. The sections were stunning across all categories and easily accessible to the public. After the four scheduled hours of competition—starting with the first rider at 9:00 AM, the tie-breakers took place around 5:00 PM, involving 3 riders in the Under 14 category and 2 in H2. Following three sections on a higher-tier route (from green to blue), German rider Ben Schork emerged victorious in H2, while Czech rider Zdenek Koubek won in Under 14.

The event concluded around 7:00 PM thanks to the tremendous effort of the section judges and the entire organizing staff, who gave their absolute all throughout this long and demanding day.
Sunday, August 9th, 2026 — Group A
Starting at 9:00 AM, following Saturday’s course layout but on much more demanding sections, the competition for Class 3, 2, and 1 took place. The sections—designed by Roberto Beroggio—were spectacular, technical, challenging, and featured massive steps that put the skills of every rider to the ultimate test. Alpette’s climate, aided by its altitude, offered a cool breeze that prevented excessive fatigue and allowed for top-tier performances on these magnificent natural tracks.

Class 1: Simone Titli (Piedmont, Italy), making history as the first Italian ever to win a BikeTrial World Championship round in the Top Category. 2026 World BikeTrial Awards Ceremony
At 4:30 PM, the awards ceremony for both the event and the overall Championship began in the presence of Dr. Davide Nicco (President of the Regional Council of Piedmont), Mayor Pio Graziano Goglio, President of the Moto Club Valli del Canavese Vanni Crisapulli, and the local community. After a wonderful ceremony celebrating the race—complete with a souvenir and trophy for all participants—a sudden thunderstorm forced everyone to move to the Alpette Copper Museum, where the 2026 BikeTrial World Champion and World Cup titles were awarded:

It was a truly successful World Championship featuring two excellent rounds in Castellví de Rosanes and Alpette, a dense and demanding calendar that nevertheless crowned great champions who will be ready to face off again in the 2027 season.
