Today, Saturday, July 17, 2026, in La Tour-de-Scay, France, the first race of the 2026 European BikeTrial Championship took place. Let's see how it went.

La Tour-de-Scay, July 17, 2026 — Thanks to the organization of the BikeTrial Franc-Comtois Club (BTFC), excellently managed by the Remy family in collaboration with all the group's volunteers and the local administration, the first race of the 2026 European BikeTrial Championship 2026  took place today, a competition reserved for groups B, H, and F.

The sections were truly beautiful, selective, and technical, highly appreciated by all participants and monitored by as many as 3 judges per section, set on limestone rocks and undergrowth. Today's particularly cool weather made the competition truly wonderful, especially in the woods where the campsite was also set up. An impressive 115 riders registered at the start, an excellent result for the continental championship.

The photo gallery will be uploaded as soon as possible, while the standings are available at the link below.

The new regulations for handling ties were applied, leading to 3 final tie-breakers. This included 5 finalists in the Under 14 category who competed across 3 sections over two laps on the blue course to determine the final standings, after all of them had finished with zero penalties, as well as in Hobby 2 and Hobby 3. The tie-breaker proved to be very exciting and will certainly be worth replicating and keeping in the regulations after this first experience.

Tomorrow, the Group A race will kick off, with Class 3, Class 2, and Class 1 ready to battle it out to determine the new European Champion in their respective categories.
